THE    HISTORY    OF    UNIKITTY

For those of you who have come here but are confused, wondering, "What exactly is Unikitty?"

"Unikitty!" is an American television program that premiered on Cartoon Network USA on Friday, 27 October, 2017.  The program was created by Ed Skudder and Lynn Wang, and is based on the character Unikitty from The Lego Movie, which was released in 2014.

It revolves around Princess Unikitty (obvious by the title), her younger brother, Prince Puppycorn, castle scientist Dr. Fox, bodyguard Hawkodile, and royal advisor, Richard.  Together, the five of them live in a magical place called the Unikingdom and work together to spread happiness throughout the kingdom.  Sometimes they face villains, such as the evil and sneaky Master Frown along with the Doom Lords, but Unikitty and her friends won't let anything stop them from spreading fun and laughs everywhere.

"Unikitty!" was very popular when it first premiered, and continued to be throughout the year of 2018.  It was usually the second or third most shown show on the schedule, sometimes even the first.

In 2019, reruns continued in January followed by a whole month of new episodes almost every day in February.  The February marathon was likely supposed to be part of a celebration of The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part's theatrical release.  However, after March 8th, 2019, not a single episode of Unikitty aired.

"Unikitty!" returned on December 24th-25th, 2019, where 16 new episodes ran on repeat.  It was pulled from the schedule for a couple weeks, although a few reruns aired on Sundays (mostly episodes from Christmas) in January-February 2020, then a new episode every Sunday in March.  After a new episode aired on April 5th, Unikitty was pulled from the schedule, even reruns.

The two-part finale of "Unikitty!" was officially revealed on May 26th, 2020, when it aired in Turkey.  It wasn't until August 2020 when the finale twelve episodes aired on weekdays at 8am EST in the USA.  Two episodes aired each day on the 17th, 18th, and 19th, and one new episode each day on the 20th, 24th, 25th, and 26th.  The episode "Sick Day" was never aired in any country, but is available online.

"Unikitty!" ended in the USA on Thursday, 27 August, 2020, showing both parts of the finale.  The cause of the show's end is unclear, but it is likely because of one or both of the two reasons: (1) not enough views, or (2) because of the expiration of the contract between Warner Bros. and LEGO (in 2019, when Unikitty ended production), resulting in "Unikitty!" no longer continuing production.  Not a single rerun has aired in the USA since the finale, and I have created this website to protest against the unfair treatment of the show as well as hopefully get the show to continue from where it left off, starting with a 40 episode 4th season as well as a full length movie, and possibly many more seasons and specials afterwards.
